Rony Suma Gamarra

Rony has been guiding groups through Peru for over 14 years! He comes from a lineage of Inca warriors and speaks fluent Quechua, Spanish, and English. Rony loves his son more than anything in this world. Even more than soccer and dancing! And he also loves to guide people all over his beloved country.

In 2015, a Crooked Trails client led a 40-person tour to Cusco. They hired Rony to organize their trip to Machu Picchu and through the Sacred Valley. The clients loved him! Soon after, Crooked Trails co-founders Tammy Leland and Chris Mackay met Rony in Cusco, and he toured them around, showing them Cusco and the Sacred Valley from a local's perspective.

He also organized a shamanic ceremony for Tammy and Chris, and they saw the value in partnering with Rony for Crooked Trails clients who wanted a more spiritual experience in Peru. He has been guiding Crooked Trails clients ever since!

Born and raised in the Santiago district of Cusco, Rony lives with his fiancé, Sandra Suma Pro, and their six-year-old son, Facundo. Since the pandemic, Rony and Sandra have worked together to be the bridge between local Peruvians and visitors.

Contact Rony for an exceptional experience in Cusco, the Sacred Valley, or anywhere in Peru!
