Girls Adventures Tanzania Marketing Project

Girls Adventures Tanzania Project offers transformative experiences that connect tourists with the region's breathtaking landscapes and cultural heritage and create meaningful connections with the humanitarian works taking place in the local community. Girls Adventures Tanzania provides a sustainable model of tour-industry success by training local women and men in guiding, hospitality, and conservation.

Girls Adventures is a 2023 Crooked Trails grant recipient.

Girls Adventures Tanzania is a local trekking company founded by Aika Robert Nkya, who believes in gender balance in all travel-industry operations. She has worked in the Tanzanian tourism industry for over five years as a freelance trip organizer for volunteers and academic travel excursions. Through her work in local communities, she saw the need to empower local girls and women through education.

From that need, she started the Nguzo Wy Foundation. This non-profit organization provides education and training for Tanzanian girls and women on health-related matters, human rights concerns, and environmental conservation activities.

Girls Adventures Tanzania funds the Nguzo Why Foundation. Aika's background in business and marketing led her to seek a grant to provide funding to build a robust website and marketing strategy for Girls Adventures Tanzania, with the intention to increase revenue, which in turn provides more funding for the Nguzo Wy Foundation.

The Issue

The Nguzo Wy Foundation provides valuable information for the girls and women of Tanzania. Aika's strategy is to develop and grow Girls Adventures Tanzania's internet and social media presence so that the revenue generated can provide sustainable funding for the Nguzo Wy Foundation. Aika requires more funds to make this strategy work.

The Solution

Apply for grants, such as the one received from Crooked Trails, to fund the work for both websites and social media platforms, which will support a more robust marketing plan for Girls Adventures Tanzania.

The Project

The funding will be used to create compelling promotional materials, develop an online presence, engage in digital advertising, participate in trade shows and travel fairs, and collaborate with influential travel bloggers and social media influencers. Additionally, the funds will support market research initiatives such as networking at international conferences, trade shows, and meetups with international figures, monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of marketing efforts, and making adjustments as necessary to maximize the return on investment and achieve the desired outcomes.

Desired Outcome

The desired outcome for this project is to create a positive reputation for delivering exceptional experiences, fostering customer loyalty, generating a strong word-of-mouth effect, and establishing our brand as a recognized and preferred choice among travelers, resulting in a strong market presence.

By creating a positive impact through travel, Girls Adventures Tanzania can contribute to the sustainable development of the Nguzo Wy Foundation, promote social justice, and create a more equitable world.
