Lend a Hand, Gain a Family: Travelers Needed to Work & Live in a Peruvian Village

LAST CALL! Don’t miss this chance to immerse yourself in the authentic culture of the Quechua people of Peru, and to help make the lives of your hosts healthier while you are there. If you’ve always wanted to experience this amazing country through its wonderful people, your host family is waiting to show you their world.

People of Vicos Peru

WHO: we need YOU (an engaged, energetic person with a heart for service who is ready for adventure) to join a great group of like-minded travelers and a dynamic guide to meet and connect with the real people of the Andes Mountains.

WHAT: a 10-day travel program centered around a homestay in a traditional Quechua village in Peru, where you’ll be working to help build smokeless ovens to improve the lives of your new friends.

WHERE: the village of Vicos, high in the Andes Mountains, will be your home for the majority of this awesome cultural experience. As a bonus, stay on after the program and journey to the Sacred Valley of the Incas for an unforgettable visit to Machu Picchu.

WHEN: this travel program runs from October 19-28, with the option to tack-on an extension to Machu Picchu extending your adventure to November 1. September 11th is the last day to register!

HOW: submit the online application and a $500 deposit to secure your spot on the team by September 11th. Once you are signed up, Crooked Trails will help you book flights, prepare your gear, advise you about immunizations and give you all the info you need to embark.

WHY: At $1,475 per person (the majority of which is tax-deductible), it’s one of our most affordable international travel programs, and the dates are tailored to fit a working person’s schedule. The intimate experience of living and working alongside the kind, spirited families of Vicos and to take part in their traditional way of life is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that you’ll remember forever. The service project is a very cool use of locally-developed technology to address a long-standing health problem in the region.

Space is limited and time is running out for you to take part in this amazing opportunity.
Contact us or submit your application before the September 11th deadline.
Your host family is anxious to meet you!
