You will be living with a Nepali family and working alongside them to finish building the upper secondary school in the village of Chandeni. There will be time to hike the surrounding area, play with the children and learn a few words in the local language. The villagers will welcome you and share not only their homes but also their customs, culture, art, food and laughter with you. This will be a truly amazing time for you and them. During your home-stay your accommodations will be simple yet comfortable and the food is traditional, nourishing and grown locally.

Educational opportunities are crucial to young rural Nepalis with hopes for a better future. Our volunteer group two years ago worked to complete the lower secondary school; now with the completion of the upper secondary school on our 2010 trip, villagers in and around Chandeni now have access to a full education, extending through the 10th grade, which they have not had before. This year, we’ll be working to construct a water reservoir system to the village.
